When collecting personal information, to the extent it is not set out in this notice we will provide the following details to you at or before the time the information is collected or as soon as practicable after it is collected:

  • the primary purpose for which the information is being collected and any law that requires the particular information to be collected;
  • the way we disclose or may disclose the information we have collected;
  • the consequences that may result if the information is not given to us;
  • the ways you may opt-out if your personal information is being used or disclosed by us other than for the primary purpose for which it was collected

If you visit our website to browse or download information, the web server will record information about you. We will only use this information for statistical and for website development purposes.  The information collected may include your IP address, the URL you came from and the URL you next go to, the date and time of your visit to our site, and the pages accessed or documents downloaded.

Any information that you enter on to an online application form (eg. contact details) will only be collected by us if you submit your online application. Emails

When you e-mail us, we will record your e-mail address.  We will only use your e-mail address for the purpose for which you provided it.  It will not be added to a mailing list unless you have specifically requested this, and we will not use your e-mail address for any other purpose.  We will not disclose your email address without your consent.

Use of information

We will not use or disclose personal information about you for a purpose ("the secondary purpose") other than the primary purpose we have communicated to you unless:

  • the secondary purpose is related to the primary purpose of collection and the use or disclosure is consistent with your expectations including the purpose of direct marketing;
  • you have consented to the use or disclosure; or
  • the disclosure is required or authorised by law.

If you consent, we may email you about a new product or service that we think might be of interest to you. If at any point you no longer wish to receive such emails, you just have to reply and type "remove" in the subject line of your email.

We will not use, sell or disclose your information for any other purpose without your consent unless required or authorised by law.

Security

We maintain strict standards and procedures to prevent unauthorised access to your personal information and ensure correct use of information.

However, "perfect security" does not exist on the Internet.  While we strive to protect your personal information, we cannot ensure the security of any information that you transmit to us over the Internet and you do so at your own risk. Once we receive your transmission, we take all reasonable steps to ensure that your information is secure on our systems.

Also, due to technical limitations, we cannot ensure that all of your private communications and other personal information will never be disclosed in ways not otherwise described in this privacy notice. For example, we may be forced to disclose information to the government or third parties to comply with our legal obligations.  Other parties may intercept or access transmissions or private communications without our consent and outside our control. As such we cannot and do not guarantee that your personal information or private communications will always remain private.

Your access to your information

You are able to access and update your personal information at any time. If you wish to do so, please contact us.  We will endeavour to process your request and reply within 30 days of receiving the request.

We will provide access to the information held by us except to the extent that:

  • providing access would pose a serious or imminent threat to the life or health of any individual or unreasonably impact upon the privacy of other individuals; or
  • the request is frivolous or vexatious; or
  • the information relates to existing or anticipated legal proceedings between us and the individual and the information would not be accessible by the process of discovery in those proceedings; or
  • the access would prejudice negotiations between us and the individuals;
  • providing access would be unlawful; or
  • denying access is required or authorised by or under law.

If access is denied the reasons for denying access will be explained and where appropriate we may consider whether the use of mutually agreed intermediaries would allow sufficient access to meet the needs of both parties.

We will not charge any fees for lodging a request for access of personal information but a reasonable fee may be charged where we incur costs in providing access.

Please also contact us whenever there is a change to your personal information or as soon as you are aware that the details we have about you are not accurate, complete or up-to-date. We will then take all reasonable steps to correct the information so that it is accurate, complete and up-to-date.

If you have a complaint regarding the way in which your personal information is being handled by us, please contact us in the first instance. If we are unable to reach a satisfactory solution through negotiation, you can request an independent person to investigate the complaint such as the Privacy Commissioner.

If you have any questions or require feedback about this statement, please contact Kate Johnson, info@ordium.com.au.
